The 11th edition of Krakow Photomonth Festival focuses on fashion. We take a closer look at what we wear, how and why we wear it, and how we present and represent it. The Polish-British cultural anthropologist Bronisław Malinowski used to say that one can study any culture as a whole through its dietary and sexual habits. We believe that clothes and clothes-related customs might be a similar key to our contemporary culture.
The festival is interested in a broad continuum ranging from an individual style to the fashion industry template, from private and intimate rituals to public and oppressive dress codes and uniforms. It is fascinated with camouflage, disguise and masks.
